    Dolgeville New York Turnverein Mug - White's Pottery Utica New York
    3-3/4 inches tall; Off White with cobalt highlights; Late 19th century; Handled; On the front it is impressed "DOLGEVILLE / TURNVEREIN / S11"; The mug is barrel shaped and has staves and a bunghole impressed; Five cobalt blue rings around the mug; The mug advertises the Dolgeville New York German athletic club Turnverein which was a very common "Union" in 19th century German communities; The mug has been in my stoneware collection for at least 40 years; It was picked on the basis of its condition which is mint.
