The charging cradle acts as a USB receiver. The battery free version uses a unique cradle that charges the wand's super capacitor from zero charge to full charge in less than 1 minute and is not backwards compatible with other 1902 cradles.  A full charge will last several hundred scans or over half an hour completely off of the cradle making it ideal for cash register use. Battery free version cradles have the green leaf on them which makes them easy to identify.  Everything is fully tested and working and both scanner and wands have been upgraded to the latest firmware.
