    Description

Hobie Corky Carol Longboard- 8’3 ½”x22”x2½” - Underside hasYellow City of Newport Beach 1969 Surfboard Permit (collectible) I wasfortunate to have a Hobie expert with extensive knowledge take a look at the picturesof the Hobie Flexible Corky Carrol longboard.
He said it was definitely late60’s and it is his understanding that Mickey Munoz was shaping most of these FlexibleCorky Carrol’s, based on Mickey’s recollection, but he has no proof.
He also said the Flexible is a really coolboard and that Hobie recreated some of these stringerless models, recently.
It has had several dings and possible nose buckling, but all are repaired.
From my research, Corky Carrol was a legendary surfingprofessional and also won the U.S. surfing champion in 1966, ‘67, and ‘69. Hewas “Best known surfer in the world”, according to a Surfer Magazine poll.
You can Google him and read more.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
My handyman helped me measure the board andit is 8’ 3½” by 22”, and the thickness, we think is 2 ½”.
I have three surfboards, a Hobie Flexible CorkyCarrol, Bruce Jones, and Brian Smith, which all belonged to my husband in hisyounger years.
They have been stored andunused for at least 45-50 years in our utility building on my property.
